Sharsheret

Sharsheret is one of Alpha Epsilon Phi's national philanthropies. It is a national not-for-profit organization supporting young Jewish women and their families facing breast cancer. Their mission is to offer a community of support to women, of all Jewish backgrounds, diagnosed with breast cancer or at increased genetic risk, by fostering culturally-relevant individualized connections with networks of peers, health professionals, and related resources. Every year, Phi Theta hosts a pink day on campus. This year, we reached our goal and raised over $1,000 for Sharsheret.

Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation

The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation is one of Alpha Epsilon Phi's national philanthropies. It seeks to end pediatric HIV/AIDS through research, advocacy, and prevention and treatment programs. It is the global leader in the fight to end AIDS in children. Since its inception in 1988, there has been a 95 percent decline in new pediatric HIV infections in the U.S., and a 70 percent decline in the number of new infections in children worldwide since the year 2000.

AIDS Fund

AIDS Fund is Phi Theta's local philanthropy. Their mission is to educate about and increase public awareness of HIV/AIDS, and to provide emergency financial assistance to people living with HIV disease and organizations providing HIV services in our local communities. Every year our chapter participates in the AIDS Walk to raise money for and support the AIDS Fund.

Pictured here is Phi Theta at Philadelphia’s annual AIDS Walk at the Art Museum. Sisters gathered together to walk a 5K, along with members of the Philadelphia community, and raise money for the Philadelphia AIDS Fund.
